    Latest Posts

I reckon it was yesterday, or the day before, that I couldn't find a button to load a page to see JUST the latest posts. Well, yesterday I did a bit of page source poking around and experimenting but just a few minutes ago was the first time to test it while I was logged onto the site, which is a key point.

    Here's what I discovered:

    https://www.patriotaction.us/search?searchJSON=%7B%22last%22%3A%7B%22from%22%3A %22lastDay%22%7D%2C%22view%22%3A%22topic%22%2C%22s tarter_only%22%3A+1%2C%22sort%22%3A%7B%22lastconte nt%22%3A%22desc%22%7D%2C%22exclude_type%22%3A%5B%2 2vBForum_PrivateMessage%22%5D%7D

Now just now that worked. But there aren't any buttons to get the same result, so let me first post this and make sure it works as a link in this post and I'll edit that result after checking.

    EDIT: Yep, it works.

Okay, so why was that "logged onto the site" a key point?

Because in 'guest' mode that button is available.

Well, with this browser. Browser parameter enters the picture (maybe) and so feedback from y'all using a different browser can help.

How many of y'all can find a set button in the shown (presently shown) CTA buttons around the landing page that shows the result that link above shows?

When I want to find the latest posts, I click on the "New Topics" button top left. I haven't checked to see if those are the actual latest posts, but they are pretty close.

I see a "latest activity" tab further down. That should work also.

I just got three results with the "Latest Activity" button and not in a list format. Actual posts.

The "New Topics" button I studied and I'm not so sure what parameters are set for that, but it isn't a list of latest posts like I can get with that link I put up there.

But for now we have that link above and eventually the Admin duo will figure this one out.

In fact, I might dig up some time to go over to vBulletin and see what they have on this. I can't be the first to see this, no matter what browser is being used for access.

I missed an important point on this matter. Guests see a button called "Today's Posts" but that disappears and becomes "New Topics" when you log in. BUT the guest will be required to log in and I haven't yet checked ... wait, let me try that now - - - maybe . . .

Nope, it jumped back to that "Topics" thingy right after I logged in using that page that loaded when I clicked on "Today's Posts" as a guest, BUT here:

          https://www.patriotaction.us/search?searchJSON=%7B%22view%22%3A%22topic%22%2C%2 2unread_only%22%3A1%2C%22sort%22%3A%7B%22lastconte nt%22%3A%22desc%22%7D%2C%22exclude_type%22%3A%5B%2 2vBForum_PrivateMessage%22%5D%7D

We can now see what the differences are and that will make it easier to fix.

You know, that's kind of a cute bug. Might very well be the admin control panel has the means to fix this without any manual code changes. Still, that's a cute bug. I think I like that one. Needs to go into the CBHF. = Cute Bug Hall of Fame

EDIT: And browser parameters sure do show themselves now, and the admin (maybe mods) can see the two browsers I'm using.

I looked into this and found that logged in users were not marked to see it... that has been change.

Thank You for pointing that out.

This is great, thank you. I missed the "new posts" tab from the old forum.

From the home page. There is a tab at the top of the forum "Latest Activity" It is exactly what your links do, in a slightly different format..

"Todays posts" has been added to the upper bar for logged in users.
