School protests send shivers down French government's spine

A movement that started nearly two weeks ago has spread, and in France young people on the streets spells trouble, writes Hugh Schofield.

It is a piece of wisdom that all French leaders take care to heed: young people on the street equals trouble.

Since the student protests of May 1968 – memorably described by President De Gaulle as chienlit (bed defecation, in other words chaos) – every government has run scared of angry French youth.

Why? Because youth movements are unpredictable and shapeless, often with no clear structure to negotiate with. Because when they protest, other groups join in.

Also: because as they're young, the public tends to sympathise. And because if the police mess up and cause injury or worse, then the consequences are incalculable. And presidential elections are only months away.

For all these reasons, when la jeunesse en colère (angry youth) is at the barricades governments tread very carefully indeed.
    ===================

Unbelievable scenes going on in France, for every teenager arrested I‘d stop their whole families benefits.

They picked up on storming the Bastille rather quickly, didn't they? (And no, not sarcasm)

A lack of teachers and over crowding classrooms, probably deserves protesting…. But not with the violence!

Islam is not a religion, it is an infesting Dicktatorship.

I would suggest Pershing's approach, with SAWs.

It's sounding like it's an intersection of the Frogistani gooberment neglecting the maintenance of school facilities and activists and, probably, the Frogistani branch of Rent-A-Mob and/or Rioters-R-Us.

This is the beginning of the 'holy' war, divide and conquer, with the help of the useful idiots and complicit weak governments..

                              No big surprise:

France Youth Riots Manipulated by Far-Left Mélenchon Party, Paris Police Report Finds

a report from the Paris Police Prefect claimed that other forces were likely pulling the strings behind the scenes, finding that “the origins of the movement clearly lie in the manipulation of student union structures and political movements close to the far left.”

The report, obtained by Le Figaro, claimed that members of political organisations such as the Young Revolutionary Communists and the La France Insoumise (LFI/France in Rebellion) party of Jean-Luc Mélenchon may have a “strategy of igniting unrest on the part of the most radical union and political structures to impose their ideas as national elections approach.”

While the students largely displayed “a clear desire for disorder, notably through the commission of urban violence, without any specific social demands,” the police report said that “clearly, high school students are being pushed into these actions by far-left elements identified both within student union structures at Paris 8 University (Le Poing levé, FSE), or Paris Nanterre (FSE).”

The police report noted that some of the actions taken by youth rioters pointed to “remote control” from left-wing unions, including prompt mobilisation outside of police stations following arrests of rioters for mortar attacks, protests which they said were “common for these organisations but quite rare among young people.”

Meanwhile, of the forty arrests detailed in the report, around a quarter were identified as far-left activists who had left high school long ago, having been born between 1999 and 2005.
Paris Police found that presidential candidate Jean-Luc Mélenchon's far-left La France Insoumise party instigated the recent youth riots.
