Paris Deputy Mayor Audrey Pulvar released a lengthy statement blaming the United States for the deadly heat wave over France this past week.

"Dear American journalists and social media 'influencers': for days, some of you have been criticizing and making fun of Paris because the city does not have A/C in every room. OMG, this is so rich!" she wrote on Instagram Friday.

She added, "As the second-largest emitter of greenhouse gas emissions in the world, you bear a significant amount of responsibility for global warming and the consequences we, in France, are experiencing. Your cities '90% air-conditioned' are not unrelated to this. In Paris, we take responsibility."

When significant facts are omitted, there are two main reasons: ignorance; deception. Doh! Vice Mayor omitted:

1. The major emitter of CO2 is China, not mentioned, let alone blamed;

2. China’s CO2 emissions have been rising significantly for decades;

3. The US’s CO2 emissions have been falling, for decades.

What POs Doh! Vice Mayor is that the US accomplished this without imposing draconian measures. And of course she hates the US for being successful.

Paris’s and France’s anti-HVAC policies are killing people who should not be.

The heat wave caused an the order of 1300-1400 more heat-related death than France’s “normal” summer heat-related deaths,

I learned today that some Parisiennes escaped their HOT homes by camping in nearby parks. The heat was less awful in the open air.

When I was a kid we would come to the Dallas area for a week every summer it frequently was 100-105 degrees back then. We didn't have ac in our car so mom put an ice chest in the car and we had ice cold water for the whole trip. Now that I live in the Dallas area the weather still is 100-105 every summer.
