    Luxury and Labor

Enjoyed watching that bit of history where there was a sharp gap between the few very rich people and the much-underpaid overworked servant class which largely dissipated by the end of WW1.

It is part of the PBS series I got two months ago Secrets of Iconic British Estates, which I have started watching after finished watching the Castles of Scotland a couple weeks ago.

Now I have started watching Highclere Castle.... ooohhh it cost $1,000,000/yr to keep it running but the production of Downton Abbey made it possible for the family who have lived there for 300 years to keep it, because of it they get 60,000 tourists a year.
