BYD upgrades one of its top selling EVs with 5-min flash charging and 390 miles range

Really, I have heard similar claims before, and batteries that are rapidly charged are damaged over time. There doesn't seem to be an explanation on how they can do this.

This one is for real this time..... Hmm..... I have doubts on this.

BYD upgrades one of its top selling EVs with 5-min flash charging and 390 miles range

    Excerpt:

BYD launched its new Flash Charging system, enabling EV charging in as little as 5 minutes, in luxury vehicles like the Denza Z9 GT. Now, it’s set to roll out to some of its best sellers.

I think the whole point is "luxury" vehicles. People who don’t care about replacing the batteries when they fail early... You can’t shove an electrical charge in quickly without causing irreparable damage... The laws of physics never change on this.

I use Uber a lot. I like it when they pull up with a BYD.....mostly when I choose Uber Comfort or Black.

EVs will be a blip in history. They are neither clean considering components, nor feasible when electric grids are not capable of charging them. And lithium battery power is very dangerous when things go wrong. Cities with electric buses are abandoning them, as are school corporations. Musk will come up with a better configuration, China will not..

I think that EV's are a dying breed. They tried them early in human travle history and they didnt deliver. We have jsut tired them again and they didnt deliver.

I see a hybrid being the answer more often than not. Even a hybrid bus would be more relibale than anything else. At least you wouldnt be left in the cold AND FREEZING TO DEATH.

There's something about a 5-min flash charging that makes me very nervous ... dumping energy that fast into these historically unstable batteries.
