It's amazing how those volcanoes are linked across the globe. The cascadia range is a system of volcanoes due to the subduction zone. The tri radiates from the largest of those volcanoes intersect with Yellowstone to the east and another large volcano in California to the South. It's very interesting how one can influence all of the other connected volcanoes.

Mt. Lassen and Mt. Shasta in northern California - both are volcanoes - are at the southern end of the Cascades, where the Sierra Nevada and the Coast Ranges come together at the northern and of the Central Valley.

Think of CA as a curved banana split bowl with mountains being the very wide rim and a crack at SF Bay. and a large handle south of the Tehachapi Mountains (in the south).
