Magistrate Judge Faruqui, who apologized to suspected Trump assassin Cole Allen, has a history of DEI advocacy and clashes with the Trump administration.

The magistrate judge who apologized to suspected would-be Trump assassin Cole Allen for his treatment inside a Washington, D.C., jail during a Monday emergency motion hearing has been criticized for his standoffishness with the Trump administration over the city's crime crackdown, and praised for his career-long commitment to DEI.

"To me, it’s extremely disturbing that he was put in five-point restraints, a person with no criminal history," Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui, who devoted much of his career to diversity, equity and inclusion efforts, said during the hearing, adding that Allen is presumed innocent.

He then compared Allen, who is accused of trying to kill President Donald Trump, with suspected Capitol rioters from Jan. 6, 2021.
Magistrate Judge Zia Faruqui should not be a judge. Too many leftists in the courts.

So the perp was placed on a suicide watch as a precaution. Is that so unusual that a judge needs to make a public comment on it?

I am far from my home nation, so I have less feel for the pulse of the nation, but I would hope there is something that could be done about this stuff about judges sort of trying to use their position to influence public opinion on matters that are not issues in a given courtroom session.

In fact, I just decided to try and find some exact quotes covering a wider range of that judge's court statements and I apologize for using the New York Post here because that site will load down your clipboard, but this was a rather good summary of what I was looking for:

      This is way weird!

Allen’s lawyer, Eugene Jeen-Young Kim Ohm, also informed the judge that Allen had been held in a padded cell and was on what amounted to 24-hour lock down, CNBC reported.

Ohm said Allen wasn’t allowed to make a call to him, was barred from having any court records in his cell and wasn’t even allowed to have a Bible.

“It just doesn’t add up,” Faruqui said, as he noted people convicted of more serious crimes were held in less restrictive conditions than Allen was being held in.

“He should not be in solitary confinement,” the judge said.

Faruqui ordered the feds to update him by Tuesday morning about where Allen will be held going forward and said he’d need justification for any decision to tighten restrictions on him in jail.
What in the heck's name is that fella getting to when he makes a reference to "more serious crimes"? He doesn't think shooting a law enforcement officer is a serious crime? My goodness. Don't you folks in the U.S. have some legal method to ask for that judge to be fired? That's disgusting. There should be an online petition started on some site to get that guy fired!!!

This guy isnt a real judge. He is an appointed magistrate who is supposed to handle tedious pretrial work. He is over seen by the District Judge who can remove him.

That said, A preson who commits attempted murder, of any kind, is a suicide risk. Full stop! The intent goes hand in hand with the knowledge that you may not survive the attempt. Running into a security check point is not the act of a sane person. That is suicidal behavior.

This moron magistrate is a known judical activist. The judge he serves is almost as bad and the reason he is still on the bench.
