America 250; How are you going to celebrate?

I bought a box of calming doggie treats. I've been having to use them nightly to keep the dogs calm. They are now usually under my feet at the desk or beside my chair. I'll be so glad when it's the 7th or 8th of July and things calm down.

Our family dog, a German Shepherd Mut, would hear a firework go off on July 3 and would disappear until July 5. I was able to follow him one year. There was a house down the street that had a huge opening in foundation and access to the crawl space. I tried to get him to come out and he wouldn't. I told my parents about it and they decided that they could let him come in the house over the 4th. Fireworks really did upset him.

I had a black lab years ago that I stayed home with on the 4th knowing he couldn't handle the fireworks. Well, on the 5th I was hanging out with my buddy's until just after dark. Got home and my neighbor met me in my driveway saying my lab had jumped the fence, went out in the street and got hit by a car and died on the side of their house. I was sick and feel horrible to this day as I didn't stay home with him assuming the fireworks were over.

That is why we will be coming home in the RV on the 6th just to be safe. Our dog doesn't get scared and shaky, she just barks at them running all over the house trying to see what is causing it. But she is still stressing out.

Growing up we used to buy the old Black cat fireworks. The M50 and a few other larger items. We blew up a lot of mailboxes back then. Do that today and you go to jail. All the things we used to do as kids.

What we would do with the M80s and Cherry Bombs was to take a cigarette push, the fuse through the cigarette 1/2 way up, light the cigarette and walk away and be a couple blocks away when the item went off.

How can you tell if someone is a red neck?

It is illegal to shoot fire works in town so they just go out on their porch and shoot their gun.

I found out that there are peeps in the next town over from mine who do that.

They do that here on the 4th and at New Years, just to get rid of some old ammo laying around the house.
