Winter Storm Warning Issued With 3 Feet of 'Heavy' Snow, 50 mph Winds Coming This Week
With all of the banter of record this or record that another record is being set and it's one of record cold and record snow. Yes it's almost July 4th and we have high probability of a very wet and very snowy July 4th for the region. I think the alarmist's are going to have a very hard time explaining this one away.
The National Weather Service issued an updated winter storm warning and winter weather advisory for the regions where Idaho, Montana and Wyoming border each other.
The new winter storm comes just in time for many in the region to start their preparations for the 250th birthday of the United States as millions prepare for the 4th of July. Those in the region are asked to consider delaying their travel across the backcountry this weekend and into the early portion of the week.
Persons should consider delaying travel across the backcountry and higher elevations. If travel is absolutely necessary, consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing," the National Weather Service said. "Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded." 3 Feet of Snow Expected to Fall
Specific regions in Montana are expected to see "heavy, wet" snow and the Georgetown Lake region could see as much as three feet of snow fall from Saturday night through Tuesday. Those in the region are warned to prepare for dangerous conditions.
