There are some references to past events in the Bible and that Woolly Mammoths died suddenly that has long puzzled researchers who also noted that there wouldn't be enough food for the massive beasts to live on in the current arctic.
However, I don't see sudden change in rotation because Earth has massive inertial forces.
How would they know how much dust there was in the atmosphere 100 years ago?
