Analysis paralysis.
"Scholars" in universities apply for grants like you and I go to the grocery store, almost daily. They will study anything as long as you pay them lots of money. The silliness of "length of time" in the atmosphere is this. All identical compounds and elements, practically without exception, react the same way whether they have been present for a nanosecond or a century. Does this make sense? Water is water! HELLO!. Carbon dioxide is carbon dioxide. THE dominant greenhouse gas is water vapor, qualitatively and quantitatively. That's why foggy nights are warmer and dry nights are very cold. The water vapor acts as a blanket. The carbon dioxide concentration is the same in both cases, but water vapor is the elephant in the atmosphere. http://Climate-Change-Cult.blogspot.com

This is why you can freeze to death in a desert at night and fry in the day time. It is so simple even a caveman can figure it out.
Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.
