I was watching this last night, it shocked me. The brazen act in cold blood and premeditated to boot.

Quote:The suspected gunman wanted in the broad daylight slaying of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson is seen smiling in new surveillance images released by the New York City Police Department on Thursday.

The unknown man's face is shown for the first time in the two new images the NYPD released as the manhunt continues for a second day.

What drove this man to kill? A note at the scene may have the answer....

It has been discovered that he left a single word on several separate rounds and casings found, the words were deny, depose, and defend.

Sounds like someone has lost his marbles with a life rapidly swirling down in the toilet.

His pistol looked like it had a silencer on it.  Three casings had words on them, analogous to a book on the healthcare industry.

The guy tried to cover his tracks but was clearly not a pro, not well trained or financed/supported.  Looks like a long term grudge...

It's hard to care. I'm sorry for his wife and kids but only to a point bc we all know people like him don't care about their customers...it's all   about profit. Didn't UHC make like 60B in profits last year?

Who here hasn't been fucked over by an insurance company? They better wise up....people have had enough of being screwed. There's a lot of anger in the country over malicious politics and  predatory capitalism. I've seen this on the rise and it's distinctly Democrat and un-American.

I'll just sit back and watch the payback unfold.
whatever~

It will be very interesting to find out exactly why this person shot him. It is obvious that it was premeditated and planned regardless of the level of expertise of the perpetrator. Finding out why he did id important to me anyway because, our Healthcare system has already gone down the toilet. Insurance companies are not known for making the situation any better. It still doesn't justify this assassination.

I never called you a  VAXhole. If you ASSumed that I did, that's your problem.

Oh it was more:

Seemed like a professional hit job but someone with a grudge against the insurance company (or in place of someone with a grudge).

They now have DNA and full facial pictures.  This guy has nowhere to run..

It references a book on the abuses by the health insurance companies from a few years back. I am betting that this guy has lost a loved one due to denial of coverage at some point.  The gross profits should not be so high IMHO and more of that money should be used to cover claims.  I know that sounds socialistic but where do we draw the line on profit?

If this guy has a good story about a heartless insurance company and a NYC jury, he might walk.

I was thinking that as well. This man crossed state lines to commit the murder, so this is now a federal case.

I'm betting his wife hired a hitman.

Several articles are reporting that the man and his wife had been living apart for several years.
When there's that much money at stake, it can create a motive for murder.

That's one angle police investigators are going to explore.

This man was a very poor hit man if this is the case. Stopping at a Starbucks, writing things on the brass, using atm's with his face uncovered... Checking into a nearby hotel...    This guy made so many mistakes that I can say with certainty he was not a professional.

Do you think it would be easy for a woman to find a good hitman? She probably wouldn't have known how skilled or how much experience he had.

And very often criminals aren't the smartest people. (Which is not a coincidence, has something to do with why they entered the crime field in the first place)

The conduct of the assassin does seem just a little more professional than an ordinary person with a grudge.
